Flying to Vancouver
The Vancouver International Airport has direct service to a large number of locations in all corners of the world, making Pulses 2017 an accessible event for all.
All delegates are encouraged to fly with the Official Canadian Airline of Pulses 2017, Air Canada.

Ground Transportation from the airport
The Canada Line is Vancouver’s new rapid transit rail link connecting YVR to downtown Vancouver in 26 minutes and to downtown Richmond in 18 minutes. It’s a fast and easy way to get to the city centres. You can conveniently access trains from both the International and Domestic Terminals.
Canada Line’s YVR-Airport station is centrally located between our International and Domestic Terminals. As you exit the train, turn left for domestic flights or right for U.S. and international flights.
There is a direct rail line from the airport to downtown Vancouver. Delegates can travel from the airport to the Vancouver City Centre Station and then exit and walk approx. 10 mins to either the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver or the Hyatt Regency Vancouver.
- YVR Airport to Downtown Vancouver (One Way):
Adult fare – $9.00 per person ($5 of the fare is an AddFare levied by Translink only on the trips travelling from YVR Airport to downtown)
- Downtown Vancouver to YVR (One Way):
Adult fare – $4.00 per person (No AddFare)

- Arriving from within Canada?
If you’re picking up checked bags, you are at Arrivals, level 2 of the Domestic Terminal. Go to Level 3, and walk toward the Link Building (located in between the International and Domestic Terminal). Follow the signs marked Canada Line or ask any of our Customer Care staff in red or green vests for assistance.
- Arriving from the U.S.A or an international destination?Once through the customs and immigration arrivals process, walk toward the exit to our International Arrivals Greeting Area. Exit the building following signs marked Canada Line. Before the parkade entrance, an escalator and elevator will take you up to the Canada Line platform.
Key Stations for Delegates of convention:
- YVR-Airport Station thru to the Vancouver City Centre Station.
Delegates should board the Canada Line at the Vancouver International Airport Station and ride the train until the second to last stop called the Vancouver City Centre Station.
Directions from Vancouver City Centre Station to exit from Georgia Street:
Once you arrive at the destination “Vancouver City Centre Station” you will exit the car and turn towards the signs marking the exit to the Georgia Street exit.
Proceed up one level following the signs for the Georgia Street Exit. It will take you approx. 3 mins walking until you get to a second short escalator/elevator area. Take this up one more level to the main street level and you will be on Georgia Street.
As you exit onto the street, turn left and walk west to the corner of Howe Street and Georgia Street. You will see a large grey brick building ahead of you with a Copper Green roof. This is the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Across the street, you will see the Hyatt Regency Vancouver on the corner of Georgia and Burrard.
Walk west along Georgia Street one block until you reach the southwest corner of Howe Street and Hornby Streets. You can now enter the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver or go across street to Hyatt.
*This walk to hotel from the Canada Line station should take approx. 5 mins maximum.
Returning to YVR:
When ready, delegates can do the reverse to walk back to the Canada Line and take the train back from Vancouver
City Centre Station to Airport Station. Fare back would only be $4.00 per adult.
*Note: Delegates need to catch the YVR Airport train only… do not take the Richmond/Brighouse train as that will not take them to the Airport.

Airport to downtown Vancouver is $31 CDN plus gratuity. Taxis work within a set price cost or taxi fare zoning system so guests will know what the costs is for Airport to Downtown Vancouver right away, not have to wait until their ride is completed. See the attached map showing the cost zones.
The airport has one preferred provider for this service and they are on site 24/7. They have sedans and limousines available for visitors to access and use. They do not have to be pre-booked.
